Once upon a time, there was a country under the yoke of a tyrant who used to seize the most beautiful young women. This merciless ogre chose them during a sumptuous ball. Three sisters receive an invitation to this fateful reception. Now they must dance with the despot and his henchmen. What if they refused to submit? Using visual theater, Delphine Bardot explores the images produced by the confrontation between an actress and the male character she manipulates. This body language recounts, more intensely than words, the forms of domination and the refusal to submit to it. In a disturbing atmosphere where shadows lurk, Santiago Moreno's music, inspired by popular Latin American tunes, blends with the sound of the cello. The story is loosely based on the story of the "Mariposas," the nickname of the Mirabal sisters, Dominicans murdered by the dictator Trujillo in 1960. Deliberately moving away from the documentary form, the show evokes the joint struggle of peoples and women who decide to say "no" to military power, "no" to the oppressive man.
