With this project, the company aims to continue its research into gender inequality in society, focusing more specifically on the systemic invisibility of women. We intend to use the relationship to the body and puppetry developed in several projects to explore this theme, namely the visible or invisible presence of the puppeteer on stage—in this case, a woman. This desire also stems from the observation of the underrepresentation of women over 50 in society.
From this subordinate relationship to the object, we touch on the theme of erasure: erasure of the individual, historical erasure, erasure by the sociological unthought (observation of a lack of data concerning women in studies and of a systematically masculine referent).
But the challenge for us with this project is to develop this idea through text. It will be a monologue on the border between autofiction and fantastical dystopia, imbued with humor and irony.
