Embroider to resist
the Exhibition

M

Period photographs, rag puppets, evocative embroidery and a short animated film make up this exhibition, which pays tribute to Argentine mothers searching for their children who disappeared during the military dictatorship.

Created in 2017, this project was brought to life thanks to La Méridienne, a Lunéville-based arts venue, and the Grand Est region's Artistic Residency program in high schools. It allowed apprentice embroiderers to participate in the design of the embroidered objects in the exhibition. It was also within this framework that the puppet animation film was produced.

Embroider to Resist received the 3rd national prize for Artistic and Cultural Audacity awarded by the Culture & Diversity Foundation, in partnership with the Ministries of Culture, National Education and Agriculture and Food.

Although this exhibition can be viewed on its own, it is also an integral part of the show. The Crazy Ones (TT Télérama) composed of two solos and Embroider to ResistIn this triptych between theater, object manipulation, shadow play and video projections, La Mue/tte summons the memory of the disappeared and pays homage to the "Folles" of the Plaza de Mayo in a committed visual poem.
