Transmission
The company supports diverse audiences (children, adolescents, students) in various outreach and training activities, both regionally and nationally, to share and promote the richness of visual and musical theater. We most often propose in our creations a unique language based on wordless writing, and this is also what we convey in our pedagogical approaches.
Our cultural action projects always revolve around puppetry and music, whether in practice or in construction.
These workshops allowed us to address sensitive topics such as inner monsters, harassment, sexism, and gender issues. They also allowed us to share our artistic practices and techniques, such as manipulation and musical and rhythmic production. These workshops are led primarily by Delphine Bardot and Santiago Moreno and are tailor-made.
Some examples of actions or training carried out:
CULTURAL ACTIONS
WITH SCHOOLS OR HIGHER EDUCATION
Master class: discovering the arts of puppetry
5 hours with students
As part of their teaching in directing and dramaturgy, Delphine Bardot offered students an overview of the arts of puppetry and a practical discovery of the different approaches and manipulation techniques deployed by the company.
Paper Doll
35 hours with a high school class
Using artisanal printing techniques, the students created life-size silhouettes of female and/or male bodies with Delphine Bardot and Sophie Lécuyer and designed sets of reversible and wearable clothing...
Monsters
32 hours with 1 middle school class
Delphine Bardot offers a work exploring the inner monster, using a handcrafted selfie/morphing process. Using a neutral mask, each child merges their paper portrait with parts of printed monsters and materials.
ARTISTIC ACTIONS
FOR FAMILIES AND AMATEUR AND PROFESSIONAL ARTISTS
Exploring the musicality of the puppet
6 p.m. with fifteen participating adult trainees
During the workshop, Santiago Moreno shares his unique universe as a One-Man Band, which focuses particularly on the sounds produced by the movement of the puppet, the object, or the manipulator, and which uses the amplified sound of objects or scenographic elements to make them sound boxes for the images deployed.
In rhythm
Parent/child workshop
from 1 to 10 a.m. – from 4 to 104 years old
Santiago Moreno offers a body percussion workshop for children ages 4 and up. Everyone can learn to use different parts of their body, from their hands to their feet, to create a lively and rhythmic orchestra.
TRAINING FOR ENTERTAINMENT PROFESSIONALS
Delphine Bardot offers internships for entertainment professionals
(actors, puppeteers, dancers) to transmit their bodily and musical relationship with the puppet, their techniques developed over 20 years of practice and share with them their research areas.
Body/puppet experimentation laboratory
6 p.m. with 12 adult trainees, performing arts professionals
Based on the concepts of dissociation, body-castle, deported masks, fused puppet, major or minor presence of manipulators, trainees can experiment with several manipulation approaches: bringing an invented body into existence, creating a duo with the object, manipulating several people on a fixed support or on a moving body.
